The 1952 Great Washington, D.C. UFO event is also known as the Washington flap or Washington National Airport Sightings. It was a series of unidentified flying object reports from July 12 to July 29, 1952, over Washington, D.C. The most well known sightings took place on the weekends of July 19–20, and July 26–27. During the summer of 1952 over a dozen of unexplained flying objects or UFOs repeatedly crossed the skies over Washington, D.C. These events were observed by different kind of people, from the layman in the streets, radar operators, professional pilots and other highly credible witnesses.
